From a 500ml bottle, undated as best I can tell. Served in an imperial pint pub glass.
Pours a moderately hazy tangerine-orange with a big four-finger head of whipped fluff. Retention is excellent, eventually settling back into a big lump of extruded insulation that you could lay a nickel on and merengue-like wads of lacing. Awfully dark for a kölsch but otherwise looks good.
Super-robust aroma of Brett funk and whole-grain breadiness. Seriously, this may be one of the strongest noses in terms of sheer intensity that I’ve ever encountered.
Tastes unexpectedly of sour grain with pronounced citric tartness. Multigrain hard bread roll with sour rye(?) and and some wheaty, peppery spice, brett funk is present but doesn’t dominate like it does in the nose. Lemon and orange with mouth-puckering lime into the finish, mildewed carpet aftertaste and vinegar in the sinuses.
Feel is bready and chewy, medium-plus bodied with fine, zesty carbonation. A little slickness at the very end.
Overall, I am unlikely to ever revisit this one. Kölsch? Not hardly, more like some weird-ass experimental mixed fermentation rye beer. Infected? Possibly so, but I drank it all up anyway.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color Klosch with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light buttery cereal with some residual sugar notes and light grainy notes is OK. Taste is a mix of light grainy notes with some light residual sugar notes with some buttery notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad but not great either with too much grainy notes.
