First, I would like to say that the tap handle for this beer simply stated Stone Barleywine.
This beer was served to me a cloudy brown/orange color that when held to the light had some dark red hues to it. The head was a light tan head that was not a lasting one. There was no lace present. The aroma was fairly simple, dark fruit –raisins, plums, faint floral hops, dark malts and some presence of yeast. The taste was equally simple, dark fruits –more raisins and plums, bitter and floral hops, some slight sweet malts and alcohol all dominated the tongue with flavors. It left a lasting aftertaste of hops. It wasn’t bad, seemed kind of flat. I would like to try again but in bottle form. A decent though.
