500 ml can, from a grocery store in Norway - I won't say which one, because the can had a sticker (in German) saying that the ABV is 5%. The max limit for selling alcohol in grocery stores in Norway is 4.75%. Bought in May 2024, so I doubt that the can was as old as 2022, but if that was the last year with 5.0% ABV, so be it. BB date 13.03.2025. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of malts, hay, honey, flowers and newmown grass. Surprisingly dry flavour, rather "neutral", moderate hops. Not undrinkable.

500ml can picked up at World Foods in Bristol. Medium golden pour, fizzy white head. Sweet, grainy aroma, corn. Taste is sweet and grainy, narrowly avoiding cooked vegetable flavors. Tingle at the finish.

Today is T, 12 Mai 2020 & I am in deep isolation during the COVID-19 crisis, giving me ample time to clear out my backlog. This one will CANtinue a few days of imports for The CANQuest (tm). This one came to me from local, in-person trader @tone77 following a trip to Italy!
From the CAN: "Inima Romănilor (The heart of the Romanians)".
CANother gorgeous CAN, this one depicting the Alps & a stone formation resembling NH's former Old Man of the Mountain. Lebo is going to LOVE getting these for his CANlection!
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle Glug into the awaiting glass. I allowed it to run fairly freely on a slow, gentle C-Line Glug until its foaming action became too much to handle. I backed down & off & then sat back as it formed two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with very good retention. Color was a gorgeous Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, prompting an impromptu visit from The Gelt Gang of Midas, Croesus & Mammon, all thirsty for a taste. Nose was very clean, slightly biscuit-malty with a nice grassy, hay-like Noble hops presence. Mouthfeel was a solid medium, good for a Lager of any sort. The taste closely followed the nose with a nice biscuity flavor along with perhaps a bigger hops presence than was really called for. It bordered on being a Pilsner, except that I would wager that no Pilsner malt(s) was/were used. Finish was clean, dry & refreshing. This would be a great beer to put in the backpack when hiking the Balkans!
This and the previous Ciucaș were both of Romanian origin, the aforementioned an SABMiller beer while this one came from Heineken. The former was twice as expensive & I liked it half as much as this one! YMMV.

I tried this beer while on vacation in Naples. Poured from a 16.9 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is very mild, a hint of grains. Taste is malts, grains, a bit sweet, very easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall, not bad. I am surprised how many beers from Romania are turning up here in Italy.

Light yellow clear body. The white head doesn't stick around much.
Light aroma of some sweet pale malt.
Light flavor that is sweet. A faint bitterness that suggests it is triple hopped.
Light carbonation. Beers like this usually have more scrub action. Light bodied.
All around light beer. Highly suggest eating food with this as I bet it's hard to down a .5l can with how boring this is.

AndoBrew brought back a shlew of Romanian beers from his recent European excursion. I'm told Romanian beer can be a real special treat. Here's hoping!
Apperance: Pours a clear, light yellow body with a fizzy white head. Lightly effervescent.
Smell: Light, clean cereal grain aroma so empty and hollow as to portend an equally lacking taste.
Taste: Watered-down, mild hint of cereal. A bit of something that might be construed as hops. Watery finish.
Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Light carbonation. Glaringly watery.
Drinkability: At less than fifty cents per bottle, it's a clear case of 'you get what you pay for'.
