Best 12/31/2010 printed on front label. Poured from 33cl bottle into flute.
Dark brown liquid, opaque. Compact tan head with small bubbles, settles fairly quickly to a ring.
Strong fruity/sweet/earthy aroma. Like dark candy sugar, or spiced caramels together with a hint of peat smoked malt. A bit solventy.
Tastes of molasses, plums, caramelized malts. Some woody cellar characteristics, and a bit of a tart apple twist. Finishes sweet. Little noticeable hop bitterness.
The sweet taste and the plum twist make it difficult to drink more than a small glass.
Note: Previous versions of this may have been a pale ale, as currently classified, but this is a brown. The long description on the label starts "La Brune de Minuit ...".

Beer bottle (33cl), tasted in 2007.
Appearance : yellow-orange color, with white foamy head, short persistency.
Smell : cereals, honey and spices aromas.
Taste and mouthfeel : fresh, strong enough. Tart, body fairly thin, with floral and herbaceous notes.
Drinkability : an average beer in the style Belgian Ale
