Aged 11 months in bourbon barrels. This big ale is malty sweet and balanced by the bitterness of American high alpha hops. Moderately strong fruity esters and alcohol aromatics emerge with a dark candy like sweetness in the finish.

Poured from a bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Cloudy mahogany brown pour with 2+ fingers of creamy off-white head. Great retention/lacing.

S: Toasted malts and fruit. Sweet and boozy.

T.F: Strong and malty. Roasted grains, toasted sugars, and loads of fruit. Picking up a lot of cherry... some oak and vanilla. The bourbon is subtle but present. Caramel, sugars, and some hop bitterness. Well balanced... hides its booze. More complex as it warms. Oak, cherry, and sugars to finish.

O: A very well executed BA Barleywine. Great flavor and drinkability.
