Let's see how it compares to the original...
Pretty good carbonation, foamy head with some quite large bubbles. Quite a dark golden colour. Sweet flowery hoppy, malty aroma. I guess I am detecting roses, though I'm not a flower aroma expert ; )
In some ways I prefer Bergenbier's own pilsner to this, as it seems less sweet. This is sweet and the hops add a kind of light floweryness, as opposed to lots of bitterness. I feel like the Czech version has more hops and more of a citrus kick. Definitely a bit too sweet, I don't really remember this in the original Staropramen, but I much prefer Pilsner Urquell and Budvar.
Feel is ok, as there is at least some obvious hoppiness towards the end of the mouth feel, but it doesn't balance the sweetness.
Not terrible, but I wouldn't buy it again unless there was only Carlsberg and Tuborg as alternatives. With more bitter hops and less sweetness, it could be a good beer for sure.
