The Blind Bat Brewery LLC

Tiny spot along the main street in Centerport. Nestled among other stores is where Paul, the owner and brewer, operates a small bistro. On the day I came with my wife, it was an overcast March day but nice to be outside. The feel is like a European bistro; very plain and yet inviting. All the drafts are Blind Bat offerings. Understand their mission is to produce beer with 100% NY ingredients if possible, and be a green business that is socially responsible. I find their beers quite herbal, fresh, and a welcome change from the IPAs dominating tap handles. Service is folksy and pleasant. We did have a burger, and it was a nice snack. They do have beer to go as well, plus local wines and cider for non-beer drinkers. I wouldn't say you would make a special trip here, but if on the north shore, this is a great way to open your mind to craft brewing with purpose.
