Pours a nice clear amber color with a nice head and lacing
Aroma has spice and citrus hints
The taste follows the nose with sauce and citrus flavors
A medium bodied well carbonated beer
A good Belgian IPA

One of the best beers I can remember. I was told from the bartender that its southern hemisphere hops come from Argentina if you were wondering. The beer was amazing and unlike anything I've had and I drink a lot of craft beer. This is the type of beer you remember and hope to have again and again and again.

This place is not known for its IPAs. They have a lot of dark beers which I like, but I'm not crazy about. Precious loves the food at the restaurant, the lobster bisque the roasted young chicken, fajitas, etc. so we go there from time to time, and when we're there, what the heck, grab a couple of growlers of beer.
But I gotta tell ya that this IPA is one of the best I've ever had, Jerry. The best! I wasn't expecting much. I got a growler. I poured some into a glass. It's a darker shade of orangy reddish not totally clear, a little cloudy, only a little. What a beautiful color. It had quite a head on it even though I was careful pouring it.
When I drink an IPA, the first thing I do is smell it. And the smell wasn't that impressive. I gotta be honest. That's probably because the thick foamy head blocked the fullness of the smell from coming through because later on I smelled a wonderful awesome heavenly very distinct IPA smell. I love that smell.
The first taste wasn't that amazing either. The first taste was actually very bitter, and the wonderful dreamy IPA taste only came on as an aftertaste. I mean, what's up that? I thought. But each taste got better and better. And it was smooth. IPAs are bitter, and this was very subtle. The taste and smell were not overwhelmingly powerful, and it resulted in a very smooth ride. "Rode Hard"? It should be maybe Rode Smooth.
It was a Thursday night, and I only wanted to taste it, and I don't like to drink so much that I'm drunk, but I ended up emptying that growler and getting stoned to the bejesus in the process. It was so good. I couldn't stop. I wanted to save some for the next day, but what the heck, I'll just swing by there and get two growlers tomorrow.
This is going down as one of my all time favorite IPAs.

On tap (tap date 11/9):
Listed as both a Belgian IPA and west coast IPA, so I am confused. I styled it American because it seemed to lean more that way.
A: cloudy dirty orange-yellow, but with a nice fluffy white head that stays atop the beer for quite a while, lacing it the whole way.
N: a tad malty, but with some citrus fruitiness in there as well. I maybe get a little melon.
T/M: decent medium body with the right amount of carbonation. The taste is a bit juicy, but by the end a dryer feel does come on. Biscuit and maybe a little bubble-gum like sweetness up front. An impression of tropical fruit is there, but it's not very distinct. The early sips were more juicy, the beer got a bit more dry grass and pine straw before I finished. As the beer really warmed (they probably serve it way too cold), the citrus notes came back out.
O: this place is not known for IPAs, but this one isn't too bad. The malts in front were expected, but the decently dry hops bitterness was not. I actually liked the first impressions of a juicy citrus beer. There is some west coast influence there, but it's not all the way at 50IBU.
Note: sorry for the somewhat meandering review, but I was getting different flavors from this one. Might need to clean up on a re-review.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
