Our classic light lager is golden in color and has a smooth finish from 100% German pilsner malted barley. Delicately crisp, balanced, and refreshing.

This was not that bad at taste but touting light beers should at least have the carb count as a measure.

On draft

Clear very pale straw color, little head that fades. Grainy aroma. Taste is slightly sweet but very mild. Thin watery body. Definitely on style, but not a beer I'd order again.

Great Great Light Beer

Sweetwater Tavern is a three-link chain of restaurants, and they have their own microbrewery. They rotate through a couple of dozen beers so not all beers are always available, but this is their flagship light beer. It's always available year round on tap in the restaurant or in a take-home growler.

And it's good. In fact, for a light beer, it's great. Light the name suggests, it's light. It has a lighter color, a shade of almost yellow, and a very subtle smell and taste.

It's not my favorite. My weight-loss regime does not involve drinking light beer (I'll go without food before I give up the taste of a rich IPA) so I only get it in the summer, but it's a good beer to drink when you're out on the deck cooking t-bones on a hot July afternoon.

Served on draft at brewhouse in VA. Beer is served in a chilled glass, slight deduction. Beer is light yellow and crystal clear. The carbonation is strong and steady, large bubbles, white head and lacing on the glass. I like it so far, looks like a light lager, looks good.

Aroma is a little on the weak side but I can pick up the sweetness of the beer, the malt, light lagers usually have somewhat of a weak aroma, and this is OK. Could have been more pronounced but its fine that its not.

This beer is corny, sweet, and harsh. I'm not feeling it. The look and smell set me up for something much better than this. Harsh. Drinkability suffers, mouthfeel is thin, so that's fine. Not a repeat. for me.

This is just another reason why I do NOT like light beer. Sacrifice the carbs, you sacrifice the taste.

Poured into a pilsner glass with no head and straw yellow color. Clear like water.

S - Crisp straw and light sweet malt, very light. Very hard to smell this beer.

T - uggh. Not much of a taste here. Light grain with a touch of lemon zest in the background.

M - Low-medium carbonation. Watery, not smooth.

I barely could finish my 8oz draft. I did not enjoy this.

On tap. Remember first of all that this is a light lager. Given that I was really surprised with how good it was. I expected something with no discernible smell or taste, but it did actually have some good beer flavors, while being very light and refreshing.

A = Light yellow, small bubbles, no head, fair lacing.

S = Light smells of fresh grains and wet hay.

T = As with the smell this tasted lightly of fresh grains, with a noticeable if light hops bitterness, and a good clean bitter finish. Very good for the style.

M = Light bodied with pleasant tickling level of carbonation.

D = I'd say this has high drinkability if you are in the mood for a light, refreshing lager. It is very light flavored but it does have pleasant taste. Much better than any of the macro produced light beers I've had.

On-tap at the Centerville location. Notes dated 5/23/07.

Pale gold color with a thin head.

Smells of... nothing. Very faint notes everywhere.

Very light body. Smooth from the over active carbonation. Not alot of flavor but a very clean finish. Not a very exciting brew.

I'm not a big fan of light beer. And this is definitely a light beer.
