Pours an amber color with a slight head and lacing
Aroma has slight malt and happy hints
The taste follows the nose with a malt and hoppy flavor
A light bodied decently carbonated beer
A good Pale Ale

On tap at Sweetwater poured into shaker. Amber, no head, minimal lacing. Some decent pale ale notes on the nose, mostly malt forward. Taste was similar with some hop punch. Pleasant on the palate.

This is a decent beer.
This is available at Sweetwater Tavern. There are a handful of Sweetwater Tavern's in Northern Virginia one in Sterling just off Route 7, one in Centreville and one somewhere near the beltway. This beer GAR Pale Ale is the flagship beer. At this establishment they rotate beers. Sometimes they have something you love. Sometimes they have something that you don't like so much. But this beer is always available.
It's not heavy. The taste isn't strong. It barely has a smell. But it's a decent beer, something that if you're going to have a bunch of people over, you know that just about everyone will like it. The only problem is that I don't love it. The taste, while ok (maybe that's too strong of a word), is just ok. It doesn't knock my socks off. So I don't intend to get this too often.
