Deep colour with floral aromas that are quite pronounced. These become toffee-like as the ale develops in the glass. In the mouth the hoppy notes are quite sweet and carries a decent mineral backbone. The grapefruit bitter notes come through after the mid palate and the finish is bone-dry.

From 10/10/15 notes. On tap at the brewpub in Cardiff, Wales.

Pours a murky dark orange. Fruity malty, taste is lightly bitter, citrus hops and resin. Medium body and high carbonation. Decent pale ale.

Poured medium dark copper colour (rather than pale as implied by the name!) not much head, though looked good. Aroma a mixture of malts and resiny hops, fairly appealing. Taste was as hinted by the aroma, fairly rich texture from the malts, but an excellent resiny strong hop taste in the finish, very similar family resemblance to some of the excellent US IPA beers. Has a good and fairly rich texture, though still easy to drink and very satisfying. I really enjoyed this.

Had at the Cardiff Zero Degrees venue.

Served on-draught into a Zerodegrees half pint glass at Zerodegrees in Cardiff. Cost was 1.60 GBP. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a one finger head of lovely soft cream lacing, good thickness, and good retention. Colour is a dark copper.

Sm: Cream, wood, and hops. The wood was certainly unexpected. Aroma is mild in strength.

T: Cream, almond, a note I can't place, and muted bland crystal hops tempered by the wood. Built interestingly for the style; the bittering hops hardly come through at all. Balance is a bit off, however. This is a common problem with Zerodegrees' beers I've noticed, but the beer is nevertheless well executed for the style.

Mf: Too coarse and wet, and not refreshing. Doesn't complement the flavours.

Dr: Not good enough to order again. It's easy to down for the low ABV and is of decent quality. I'm glad they opted to offer it on draught and not out of a cask like so many UK brewers.
