Copenhagen 18/8 2021. 33 cl chubby bottle from H.J Hansen Vin, Vestergade, Odense. Black version of Møn’s usual design with the little logo with Møn’s Klint.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a big off-white head. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty and dark odor mingling with a distinct scent of licorice. Roasted dark malts, brown sugar. Sweet and salty licorice.
Light carbonation. Thin, watery, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
A fine licorice stout. A bit thin - but the licorice almost manages to hide it.

So nice and clean salt licorice taste. The best licorice beer I had.

Poured from the bottle into a snifter glass.
Very light head I notice on creation, and almost ice cream vanilla brown, and very matching creamy character of easily a finger and simple staying retention. Very fine bubbles. Body color has a little bit of clarity, but is mostly a very dark brown with a reddish tinge.
Mild fruit aromas seem to hit but really not much sense of licorice going on here though. Not even much charring or classic easy stout character. Some good faint berry sweetness.
Woah does the palate surprise. First sip seems to be a classic light bodied stout, then BANG the black licorice kicks in something fierce. Really opens up big on the finish as well. Mouthfeel hits slightly wet, but then coats very nicely. Quite sweet actually but tolerable, with black licorice candy coating the palate in a nice mellow thickness.
It's another licorice beer, but with a true licorice head flavor and fan appreciation. Bit of a one trick pony and not varied but a fun beer if that's your sort of thing.
