Snagged up a bomber of this at The BeerMongers. I really need to go buy more if I can.
- Dark copper/brown... clear... quick fizzy head... down to a small little bit of lace. Avg. really.
- Wonderful blend of aromas here... vanilla and bourbon really shine through.. paired well with scents of brown sugar, molasses.. oats... grain.. bitter bright hops.
- This is what I am talking about. A fantastic blend of vanilla bourbon flavors with oats, sweet brown sugar, hops... and not overly sweet. A truly fantastic barleywine.
- Medium bodied, perfect carbonation.... smooth.. goes down well. Not chalky or sticky really. Not even that chewy.
- Overall this is one of the better barleywines I have had. One I will certainly buy again if I can find more. Top notch stuff, and actually unique for the market... since most bourbon barrel stuff are either stouts, or porters. Nice to see a barleywine.
