not sure which one in this series i am having, it has the raptor on the front and is done with rakau, motueka, and waimea, a heady combination of southern hemisphere goodness. i do not see a number for the series on the can at all, im not even sure these are actually numbered as they are listed here on BA, but suffice it to say this one is a winner and i hope i get the chance to try them all! its not a novel concept, a rotating ipa series, lots of breweries do that now, but i like the focus that it brings to specific ingredient combinations, and this is easily the best hoppy beer i have had from war horse to date. fairly hazy from the can under several inches of high white head thick as beaten egg whites. it smells and tastes quite pungent, but there is not any of that over hopped green bite that plagues so many of these. there is some bitterness as it warms, but its an aside here, its all about the climax, which is a split second explosion of lemongrass, not quite ripe strawberry, french melon, and lime zest, with traces of dill and honey, its awesome, fresh, and distinctive. the base beer could be cleaned up a tad, a little sediment in the bottom of my glass and a slightly heavier feel than the flavors seem to want, but the hop profile is brilliant. very good beer in this copycat category, impressive. thanks to my brother for sending this (and a whole bunch of other killer beers) out to me! one of the highlights of a very beery weekend.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
