A: Very uniform looking carob brown. Sandstone khaki head.
S: Maple walnut syrup , burnt pecan; sweetness balanced with spice and lavender.
M: Silky yet oily, moderate graininess and smooth feel. Sticky on the finish, but far from cloying; med body.
T: Birch, caramel, tree sap sweetness without much flavor backing it up. Light roast/coffee notes; more cherry, walnut milk chocolate bars, and a big oat quality. The aftertaste is pleasant and really the only time any maple gets to shine.
O: Bought this because of the maple addition, but it's not really a focal point. The base beer is really good with a great oat quality. So, the oats are really the star in this beer, which the slight maple addition really amplifies.

Pours very dark. Big tan foam. Sweet aroma. The first sip was excellent. Big maple and coffee flavors. Slightly bitter roasted malt finish. Smooth. I would drink this with Winston Churchill any day.
