Brewed in celebration of the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The National War Plane Museum is home to W7, known as Whiskey 7, one of the lead aircrafts of the first strike of the D-Day invasion on June 6th, 1944 over Ste. Mere Eglise, Normandy. W7 is still operational today, thanks to the wonderful folks at the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo, NY. IBU 30

Pours a deep amber. Thin foam. Toffee aroma. Sweet nutty toffee body. Not too sweet. Fades quickly. Light sweet finish. Good flavor. This is more of a fall beer in my opinion but it will do just fine for now.

Clear and dark copper with a one inch almond head. The head quickly drops to a thin blanket. Fine lacing decorates the Strangebird IIPA glass. Fine carbonation rapidly wafts upwards in clouds.
The aroma is earthy spice and toasted malt.
Bitterness is pleasant and in balance with sweetness, both are modest. Malt has a spicy rye flavor. The finish is long, mild, and clean.
Alcohol is as expected, while the body is thin with a sharp, satin texture. Carbonation is modest and prickly.
This is a simple, relaxing beer. I am enjoying my last can on a cool, cloudless summer afternoon, while the wind rustles the trees and a harp plays softly in the background.
