Poured 22oz bottle into tulip. Color deep brown/black with a thin tan head. Head doesn't last long and forms a thin ring around the glass that stays until the end. Aroma is bitter sweet with strong bourbon notes. The flavor is similar and has more bitterness that I would expect in this style. I'm not sure if it is just a harsh bourbon flavor or if too many hops were used in it. I would expect a sweeter, malt chocolate flavor, but this misses the mark. Feel is medium thin, not a rich and smooth feel that I would expect. This one fell a bit short for the $18 price tag.

I corked the bottle and finished 48hrs later. It was very much like a BB Barleywine and I enjoyed it much more when I didn't tie to a style. I'd rate it more like a 3.85 as a Barleywine.

On tap at Potosi Brewing Company. Poured a very dark brown with very little carbonation. Very strong bourbon on the nose. Initial taste is bourbon then the roasty porter comes through. Let this one warmup a bit and air out. It's rated at 8.5% but it sure feels more than that. Overall another nice bourbon barrel aged beer from Potosi.
