For our latest brew we’ve teamed up with the coffee roasting masters and all around fine folks at Verena Street Coffee Co. With a cold pressed proprietary blend of Verena’s rich ground coffee beans, our brewmaster has crafted a wholly original coffee stout that is both rich in coffee tones and eminently drinkable.

Pint can, from refrigerator, rested on counter and poured into a tall glass, consumed over half an hour.
Appearance is a deep brown, almost black but with a mahogany tone around the edges. Relatively thin caramel-colored head, dissipates quickly, but a ring of bubbles continues to form throughout consumption.
Aroma is dark and thoroughly roasted malts.
Flavor is relatively simple and enjoyable, roasted malts up front and expanding as the beer warms, a pleasantly citric and slightly resiny hop bitterness that lingers on the tongue but doesn't take over, and something like a full-city roast coffee present mostly in the volatile aromatics up the back of my throat. I'm not getting any of the super-dark-roast coffee bitterness that often accompanies "espresso" combinations, and that makes me happy. No discernible complications from the yeast, probably a relatively clean ale strain.
Feel is smooth and fairly thin for a beer in this style, with good carbonation. Has the mouthfeel and easy drinkability of a lighter ale.
Overall a very easy pint if what you want is the flavors it advertizes. Very well-balanced. Not a heavy or challenging beer, but perfectly enjoyable on its own or with food.

Gift from Ri0.
Pours black with dark brown showing up on the very edges of the beer. Head formation is slow and low, with a little over a finger forming from a moderate pour straight into the glass. Nice foamy consistency with fair retention. No lacing left behind. Aroma is espresso, dark chocolate, and roasted malts. They shape and work together extremely well, forming a soothing, coffee shop aroma. Flavor profile is very similar with espresso and roasted malts being the brunt of the flavor profile. Additional notes of dark chocolate and cocoa bolster the flavor profile ever so slightly. Espresso is smooth, with no hints of charring or burning. Pleasant earthy, espresso smoothness. Mouth feel is medium-thin, with a smooth and creamy consistency. The finish is a tad watery. Overall, a flavorful coffee stout that showcases the coffee and stout characteristics well. It strikes a nice balance between being a robust stout and a delightfully quaffible stout. Well done.
Served in a 12oz snifter. Potential bias: I absolutely love coffee.

16oz can, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark black body, opaque with a one finger thick mocha head, good retention, bits of lacing. Smells of bitter espresso, slightly acrid, milk chocolate, barley roast, a bit of cookie grain. Light cocoa. Flavour is a bit smoother, less acidic with espresso, milk chocolate, roast, slight grainy sweetness, bitter cocoa and a little bit of dark chocolate on the finish. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied, good depth but slightly watery, milk chocolate and cocoa on the finish. Solid coffee stout, lacking a bit of body but flavour is good. The acrid coffee seems to be a bit of a turnoff on the nose.
