Poured a deep caramel red, a bit hazy with a nice thick sticky head.
The smell is fine with a nice herbal hops and sweet caramel, good, but a bit lacking on the hops for double.
I really like the flavor, tastes very herbal and medicinal, very nuggetty. The hops are very balanced with the big caramel sweetness and a bit of alcohol.
The mouthfeel has a medium thickness with a nice resiny finish.
A pretty solid double, I liked that it wasn't as west coast as most.

Dark and cloudy amber, like a very heartily brewed IPA.
Smells strangely, wonderfully herbal. Like citrus hops and oregano. The blend of bitter, sweet, and savory was honestly shocking at first--I thought maybe my glass was dirty, or something--but after several sips I grew accustom to it, and man it was pretty darn good. A little unbalanced, though, and sort of syrupy in the back end.
So so many brewers take the DIPA as an off day sort of beer--just toss a bunch of stuff in and watch the 4.3ish reviews pour in on the BA. This is a beer for hop heads, yes, but it'll also impress jaded veteran-types, like myself, who are sick and tired of hop bombs getting haled.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
