Found in a central Moscow kiosk, the bottle is brown half liter, with a sharp looking metallic blue and gold label featuring the coat of arms flanked by two eagles perched on barley stalks. Sugar is an ingredient. Best before 5/6/06, I opened it on 3/18/06.
Pours a clear standard gold under a 1.5 finger off white head that musters a bit of body before disappearing quickly and quietly, leaving no film, no lace and just a trace of collar. Slightly fruity nose, with a bit of grain and just a touch of sickly sweet bad watermelon. The mouth is light and very prickly. The taste is solid if uninspired. Some grainy malt, a bit of slightly metallic hops, a touch of fruitiness and a vaguely sour aftertaste. It's drinkable enough, but hardly worth seeking out.
