Copenhagen 4/5 2018. 33 cl bottle from Edeka, Damp. Two Lions brewing beer on the label. Signed by the Braumeister Walter Bauer.
Pours hazy, pale yellow with a medium-sized bubbly white head. Settles as a very thin, transparent layer of foam. No lacing.
Aroma is sweet and malty. Fruity, bread, grains and light sugary notes.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a weaker bitterness.
Quite middle of the road Helles. Easy to drink, malty and a bit on the sweet side.

Oh this is fresh. Sweet, tart and slightly dry. Medium carbonation and a smooth feel. Aromatic taste if that makes sense, with a lingering hoppy bitterness. Not bad at all.

500ml bottle bought at the CO-OP in Sansepolcro, Italy.
Pours a medium gold with a medium head. But HAZY, which I wasn't expecting at all.
Smells nice but nothing exceptional, taste is helles, but with something I can't put my finger on, a touch of yeast and sourness. Mouthfeel is somehow more substantial than usual for a German helles.
This really shouldn't tick my boxes, I tend to like German lagers with more punch. Maybe it's the water, I don't know but it charms me. This beer is greater than the sum of its parts. Surprisingly satisfying.

Good beer. I expected it to bring a little more malt than it does, but it's a good beer. Happy to have access to it easily enough. I feel like it may be a little colder than I want it, yes it's a lager but it's swathy and full and could benefit from being a touch warmer. The only critique is maybe that the finish is a little one dimensional, but, that's not the worst thing in a lager session. Good stuff.

The very first beer I had in Germany. The real deal. Light, summery, very malty, very fresh, delicate, almost buttery. Excellent.

Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Pale, about mid-straw with a slight haze to it. Pours with a 3mm white ultra-fine bubble head. Rising bubbles too but streams of some of the smallest bubbles I've seen in ages. ps@+15mins, holds really well.
S- Very subtle, just a dry (hops?) note.
T- Quite dry right on the front, that lingers then a moderate malty aspect rises to give it balance. It's interesting that was my first sip of beer today but the same repeats as I sup on. I also notice that there is a dry hop facet that lingers on the tongue after swallowing, subtle though.
F- It's dry, it's refreshing and yet the malt balance makes it versatile.
O- Eminently sessionable, well esp. if you can buy it in Germany! Well put together, nothing here to offend most beer-fans. Might not have quite enough unique to it and special to justify buying again abroad as something of a specialist import.
For any bottle fans or geeks. This is the first ever time I have seen a beer come in a 500ml Steinie shaped bottle, ie having a stepped neck. Despite 3 years living over there I stood there blinking when I pulled this one from the mixed case.
Review2013/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! ==> Very trad but no surprises, ingredients per the German Beer Purity Law.
500ml bottle BB: 02/06/2022 £2.60 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

De color dorado, con un dedo de espuma burbujeante de retención media. Ligera y de carbonatación media. Aroma a cereales y levadura. Sabor ligeramente dulce con un corto retrogusto.

look: big frothy rocky white head with good retention, beer is a cloudy straw to golden colour with good levels of carbonation in the beer.
smell: smells quite nice, lovely biscuity white bread malt aroma, grass, heigh, honey, caramel, floral, smells like a nice helles.
taste: that’s a pretty good helles that, lovely malt flavour, white bread, whole grain bread, biscuit, caramel, toffee, grass, honey, nicely sweet, nicely floral, little hint of bitterness on the finish, nice tasting beer, but not very exciting.
feel: light bodied, light to medium carbonation, crushable, grand.
overall: decent beer, a straight forward lager with nice malt flavours, nothing special however.

330ml bottle, poured into pint shaker.
A: Pale golden, very hazy, small head which disappeared fairly quickly, didn't leave any lacing.
S: Straw and hay which faded.
T: Malty farmyard sharpness, slight hints of tangerine honey.
M: Medium body, low carbonation.
O: Easy drinking, cloudy Helles which some might class as a Zwickel.

Pours a slightly unclear golden color with a bigger, froth white head.
Smells of hay, bread dough and a hint of straw.
Has a light, refreshing mouthfeel with a vivid carbonation to it.
Tastes of rock sugar, rich wheat and a lighter mineralic note. Turns even a little sweeter after that, with some toffee and more sugar adding to the foundation of the beer. Finishes aqueous, sugar and a superlight hint of dried herbs.
Pretty one dimensional and predictable with nothing to offer but a solid balance.
