I had this on tap with dinner at the brewpub. The beer was dark gold colored with a thin spit-like wet head. The smell was really subdued, not near enough strength to the hops to positively ID as an IPA. The hops came through marginally more in the taste, but more in bitterness than any of the sweeter flavor. Actually I would have guessed this to be an ESB, and not really a beer I enjoyed.

L: Pours amber with a thick and medium sized tan colored head that takes some time to settle. Laces pretty good down the glass.
S: Smells of some sweet roasted malts under a bigger earthy and piney hoppy aromas.
T: The taste is of sweet roasted malts under the hoppy bitter flavors. The hop flavors are mixed nicely for a mix of earthy, piney, and citrisy hops.
M: Pretty crisp and fresh tasting with a pretty good amount of carbonation.
D: OK for an American IPA. Perhaps if it was a bit crisper or sharper tasting it would be really good.
