A winter warmer spiced with angelica seeds, meadowsweet, cinnamon and cloves, also some brown sugar.
A - Dark brown, dark red when put against light. Thick tan head after vigorous pour.
Sm - Dark malts, acrid and metallic. Hint of clovesin the background.
T - This is all over the place...Sweet burnt malt, cloves and cinnamon, herbal meadowsweet finish. Could do with a bit more harmony.
M - Body is pretty light, because of the brown sugar.
D - This beer needs balance! All the elements are crowding the palate trying to grab your attention. This is definitely an interesting beer, only because of the use of traditional Icelandic brewing herbs, yeah, the most interesting beer produced commercially inn Iceland in centuries. But...that does not mean it is good or drinkable. I´m sure that a good amount of cellaring will do this beer wonders, probably be excellent next christmas.
