Swingtop bottle @ Hellers.
Pours a honey coloured body and an off-white cap.
Aroma is honey, Munich malts, faint herbs, cleanly attenuating lager yeast.
Taste follows the aroma, but bends way too sweet, rendering it imbalanced.
Texture is off-puttingly dry and Scratchy, giving it a hoarse presence on the palate that drags a bit as you drink.
Difficult to drink given its cloying honeyed sweetness. It's a swing and a miss at this style.
D+ / NOT RECOMMENDED

This Organic Maibock poured a clear, golden color with modest white foam that settled. The smell was malty with a touch of alcohol and a hint of hops. The taste was malty and lightly sweet with mild, balanced hoppiness. There was a bit of biscuity malt flavor, and the flavor of aroma hops. The mouthfeel was smooth with medium body and good carbonation. There was a light malty sweetness in the finish. This was an OK maibock.
