Yellowish with a thin head, and an unimpressive aroma.
Well spiced beer with balanced Malt and hops.
Pretty bitter though with a strong yeasty undertone. There is a sharp alcoholic scent underneath all.
There is a strong profile tying together the beers from this brewery, this one is no different.
Overall not too impressed.

The beer arrived on the bar a hazy pale golden with a low head that was barely there.
The aroma was corny with DMS and some sweetness.
The flavor was sweet with some vegetal flavors. There is hop bitterness way in the background, but it was slight.
The finish was dry with crisp bitterness lasting well into the aftertaste. The body was medium light.
The Frog Grog tap must be the most popular at Hill Top. I never saw it stop flowing. Pints, pitchers, mugs, it just kept going and going.

I think this is Hilltops attempt at an easy quaffer. They use this on Weds nights for 50cent pint night so you know its a light inoffensive standard beer. While listed on here as a blonde or golden ale, Hilltop claims this is a Kolsch.. Its not a Kolsch or if it is its some bizzare form of it.. It pours a pretty strong golden with a nice fluffy white head.. Smell is a bit of floral hops with just a touch of sweetness.. Taste is bland and inoffensive. Not too malty, not too hoppy. Its pretty well balanced to the bland. It is a very easy drinking beer and one of their lower ABV beers which is a good thing since they seem to have a few on the high end. THis would make a good hot weather thirt quencher, other than that I would order something else.. But hey i can understand why they brew it , yah gotta pay them bills
