16 oz. can. Clear yellow. Smells of doughy malts, lemony hops, light herbal and medicinal notes. Tastes of herbal hops, light grain, and a touch of doughy sweetness. The medicinal flavor is strong here and tough to ignore. Strong herbal spicy bitterness. Medium light. At first, I thought it was just a heavy use of a strange hop, but the medicinal flavor gets stronger as it warms. Not a fan.

The Ravenous Pig "Laid Up Lager"
$7/pint (maybe larger) on tap at the restaurant/brewery
Notes: Mostly clear deep golden body beneath a bright white head of foam that holds well and leaves some nice lacing about the glass. I'll say it's "good" head retention with "very good" lacing. Mainly Pilsner malt aroma with softly herbal hops. The flavor follows with a stronger impression from the herbal hops. I wish the hops were a little more complex, perhaps with some floral or spicy notes, but it's OK as it is. A firm bitterness balances it and leads to a dry finish. Medium bodied and gently crisp. It's a basic, straightforward and serviceable Pilsner.
