Growler from the brewery. This IPA has been brewed to be a house beer at Stout (the restaurant) in Hollywood.
Pours orange amber with over a finger of head in a light almond color. Fair amount of retention and lacing present. Aroma of pine, caramel malts, flora, and orange. Tastes of much hop: piney, earthy, floral, orange citrus. Definite malt component in the flavor, but it take a clear backseat to the hops. Finish has a nice floral and earthy hop character. Medium-high in carbonation, creamy and slightly prickly. Overall a very nice IPA. Along with the Knuckle Sandwich DIPA and their year-round Palomino, Bootlegger's Brewery is putting a full line up of top notch pale ales. I am impressed.
