Reviewed from notes taken during Bootlegger's 3rd Anniversary Party last weekend.
A: Pours deep amber with a faint white head.
N: Nuts dominate with pecans, walnuts and toasted almonds. Sweetness.
T: Complex mix of oaky wood and vanilla play off dark, booze-soaked fruit.
M: Rich complexion, mildly sweet, faint heat on the finish.
O: Mellower and smoother than the bourbon version. Drinking very well right now after 30 months in the barrel. Well done.

On-tap at Bootlegger's
A: The pour is a lightly hazed dark amber color with a thin white head.
S: This is a lot more balanced than the bourbon version. While the brandy is noticeable, the barrel character is a lot more subtle and provides some vanilla and oak while still allowing some of the fruit to come through.
T: Like the bourbon aged one, the base of Golden Chaos comes through very nicely, while still exhibiting some good vanilla and oak. There's some excellent pear flavor along with a very slightly tart apple flavor which is surprising but very nice.
M: The body is medium to full with a moderate carbonation and a crisp, dry finish.
D: I was really pleasantly surprised by this beer. I found the fruit and lightly tart flavors to be a very nice compliment to the brandy and barrel contributions.
