According to Aaron, two batches were made of this dunkelweiss, with each batch brewed with a different yeast strain. The batch I tried was made with an American yeast strain, not the traditional German strain. On-tap at the source itself, on to the beer:

Not a whole lot of heard retention of top of this dark leather brown colored beer. The aroma is pleasant; there's a little cocoa and some toasted sweet bread found. The taste is more like an American dark wheat than authentic German dubnkelweiss, but I'm not complaining. It's mellow for the most part, lead by toasty wheat malt, a touch of baker's chocolate, and a tiny hint of banana. On the carbonated side, along the style guidelines in that aspect.

There's aren't a whole lot of American brewers doing a dark wheat beer. I'd love to see this beer on a rotation with its paler wheat sibling.
