On-tap at Bootlegger's
A: The beer pours a cloudy orange-amber color with a finger of white head.
S: Smells quite bready with some decent malt sweetness. There's definitely a strong ginger note and maybe some (lightly herbal) tea. A little bit of a "green" character to it, maybe grass?
T: Lots of sweetness to the flavor. I get honey, which seems to be quite floral, bread, and maybe some toffee. The ginger is prominent as well. There's a slight citrus character, but it's definitely minimal.
M: The body is medium with the carbonation being a little bit on the low side.
D: After the previous beer that had ginger in it, this is a big step up. I liked it well enough, but nothing to write home about.

On-tap at Bootlegger's,
A: Pours a light amber with a medium white head, solid retention, light lace.
S: Ginger for sure, crystal malt, a basic amber ale here for the most part.
T: Ginger, crystal malt, lemon. A tasty beer if not particularly robust.
M: Medium-bodied, dry, fairly smooth, nice feel overall.
D: Nothing much to complain about here, a solid effort in a spiced beer. Enjoyable, but nothing more.

Sampled 1/28/2011 at the brewery. One of the 10 pilot batches that are going on in the next few days.
Pours dark yellow with some brown showing through, murky, rocky white head, decent lacing and retention.
Aroma is of sweet ginger, grass, and caramel.
Flavor is honey (probaby the sweetness in the aroma), ginger, pale malt, bread, mild citrus hop notes, and some caramel. Caught half way between amber and pale ale. Medium bitterness as well as chalkiness.
Body is light, undercarbed, and somewhat drinkable.
