1592nd Review on BA
Bottle to Mason Jar
750ml c/c

Purchased at Lone hill liquor for $8.99

App- When this poured out it was a mixture of a few colors with a bit of a wood stain shimmer. Rusty brown, red, yellows, golds as well. Fairly dense with lighter edges. A good two finger light than head with a couple dots of cling.

Smell- This was a very dense and thick nose. Standard amber malts with a thick yeasty candy nose. A bit too toffee and brown sugar nose.

Taste- I didnt really care for this one when I 1st opened it. Needed to let it get colder in the glass to let the yeasty flavor die down to work with the citrus and malt combo on this one. A standard amber but more citrus. Lacks a bit of balance behind it.

Mouth- A full medium body with a full semi creamy carbonation. Main residual flavors are the citrusy malts and then a bit of candy sweetness and rich sugars.

Drink- Was okay. Nothing too exciting for me. Ill call this one average at best. Wont come back to this one.

On-tap at Bootlegger's

Amber in color with a white head. The nose is sort of funky. Very phenolic with a bit of bandaid to it. Maybe a little smokey, too. After that, a more straightforward Belgian beer. Good caramel, toffee, and bread. There’s a bit of orange peel character in there as well. The flavor is better than the nose, mostly because it lacks the bandaids. Intensely sweet citrus flavor with lots of caramel, bread, and toast. A bit of yeast and spice, as well.

Pours a murky honey red with a 3 inch foamy orange-khaki head that settles to a craggy cap on top of the beer. Thick foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, brown sugar, and some Belgian yeast aromas. Taste is of toasted malt, brown sugar, Belgian yeast, and some light fruity flavors. There is a medium amount of spice bitterness on the palate that lingers after each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp and prickly mouthfeel. Overall, this is a solid beer and the Belgian yeast used here works well in the aroma and flavor.
