A recent trip to Bishop's Cellar yielded some newer Sea Level Brewing bottles.

Pours a matte black with a finger of chocolate head. Head evaporates quickly, leaving no lacing.

The scent is vaguely fishy. Minor coffee scent as well.

Initial taste is somewhat weird. Not quite sure how to describe it. Not quite sour, not quite malty, not quite butterscotch. After you get past this somewhat odd flavor, the stout turns gives you a mild coffee/chocolate flavor. Dry, smooth finish with no real aftertaste.

Overall, this is a fairly average stout. The odd scent/taste isn't off-putting, but neither does it launch the beer into an above average beverage.
