On tap at Imbibe in Indianapolis
Comes to me an extremely dark brown, almost black with a dark beige head. Smells malty, a little smoky and just a touch of hops? Tastes like roasted malts, slight chocolate with a nice, unexpected slightly hoppy bitter finish. Mouthfeel is great and drinkability is pretty high. Not what I think of when I hear brown ale, but a really interesting, and delicious interpretaion of one.

On tap at the Old Chicago location in Merrillville, Indiana. Dark brown, minor medium tan head, and a decent roasty nose. Respectable brown with nice sweet malts and some continuing roasty/nutty notes.Mouthfeel is nothing special, perhaps a bit on the thin side, even for the style. Dry finish is to my liking. This is an aggressive and easy brown ale. My first from Crown, who is a local brewery in the area and so far they seem to make a respectable brew

My favorite out of the flight so thought I would grab a pint to rate.
A - Color and clarity of stagnent pond water. Dark brown and can't even see through a taster glass.
S - Sweet and deep malt aroma with hints of coffee.
T - Sweet carmel malt flavors meet a light coffee hint at the end. Very good for a brown ale.
M/D - Mouthfeel is skewed to the watwry but not bad. Drinkable enough tha I am ordering my next pint right now....

Poured into a standard pint glass. Small tannish head sits on top of a clear brown body. Deep ruby/garnet around the edges. A fair amount of chocolate and cocoa. The taste matches the aroma. Bitterness is subdued but enough to keep the maltiness in check. The dark malts linger at the end. A very good session beer.
