Had this on tap....
A- Poured a pale sunshine yellow color. One finger white head shows good retention for a higher ABV beer. Some light streaky lacing on the sides of the glass.
S- Good sweet malt upfront to this. Light notes of clove but the banana comes through very heavy. A sugary sweet alcohol aroma tingles the nose. The belgian yeast comes through in the aroma giving way to spicey appeal to the beer.
T- Malts come upfront with a light spicey flavor. Cloves and banana come next with a light bready flavor from the middle malts in the beer. The alcohol in this comes up and stays from the middle of the beer to the ending with a cloying sweetness. A light hopping on the backend tries to help balance the beer out.
M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation was lighter for the style I thought. Sweet malts and some clove left on the palate with banana and sweet alcohol left in the aftertaste. Palate was very dry from the alcohol. This beer was flavorful but the banana was the standout flavor...not really balanced overall.
D- This beer was good but really sweet. The high ABV limits this beer to begin with but...the sweetness doesn't make me want to drink a full glass of this. By the end of the glass I felt like I was just drinking sugary alcohol. Good try from this brewery though!
