Tried on tap at Crown Brewing, 24 May 2011. Served in an 8 oz. Snifter.
Small brown head quickly dissipates. Medium carbonation. Clear very dark brown color. Aroma of chocolate, slight piney-ness. Starts with a fair amount of semi sweet chocolate. Lots of hoppy bitterness too. Slightly roasty. Alcohol somewhat hidden. Medium body. Roasty bittersweet aftertaste.
Crown calls this a double black IPA.
