Drinking this at The Bold City Brewery in Downtown Jacksonville Florida.
Poured from a tap into a pint glass.
Appears dark red with tannish foamy head and lacing that lasted.
Smells coffee, malty, bready.
Taste follows the nose.
Mouth feel is medium plus for the style.
Overall, it's a slightly heavier version of an amber ale, and the nitro seems to bring out the malt all that much more and we all want a little more, right?
I like the nitro version better, but that's a personal observation not shared by those that don't like nitro beers.
I would definitely order again.

Arrives as a gorgeous chestnut/red with a huge waterfall. Creamy light tan head, as expected. Retention is meh.
Smell is kind of ashy/char with a note of malt and some roast. Balance is not a strong suit.
Taste is better balanced. Malt (roasted), some caramel and char.
Lighter than expected or desired, really. Almost watery.
