Enjoyed on cask at beer tasting. Looks this one was brought back from its original limited release. Single finger tan body on a deep brown body. Aroma is almost all coffee with tr sweet caramel malt hidden but there in the background. This is different in the flavor where nutty and coffee notes are dominant. The coffee is very earthy as if it is a beer flavored coffee as oppose to coffee flavored beer. I think that the 1901 is their best beer and this is a very nice version. Casked beer with full body.

A - Pours from the cask with a tiny, white head of cascading foam. The body is a very dark brown color with amber highlights. The head its small but tenacious.
S - A strong aroma of nutty coffee. Some brown caramel malt in the background musty, almost funky complexity to the coffee character.
T - Nutty coffee and cola with a little brown sugar. More cola with a watery, black coffee flavor in the middle. Finishes with dry caramel and acidic coffee flavors. Earthy coffee and light smoke lingers in the aftertaste.
M - Medium body, light carbonation, and a dry finish.
D - This beer is one of those rare brews that is more than the sum if it's parts. The coffee is genuinely complex and blends perfectly with the profile of the straight beer. A very good cask and perhaps the best beer that I have had from Bold City.
