Single finger with thick lacing on a murky deep brown with amber hues body. Aroma is so terrible, mostly ketchup, tomato juice and licorice. Some sweet caramel occasionally. Taste is a little better but pretty watery with light caramel malts, mostly sweet bourbon, some earthy hops. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. Overall I am disappointed here. This one is pretty old. It may have been better initially.

I was skeptical to see a low ABV and thin bodies brown ale aged ina bourbon barrell. I was unsure if it would hold up with the powerful bourbon tatse. But, it did well. The bourbon was not overpowering in fact it was right on. I'd still like to see the original brown ale recipe with some more body, but brian pulled off this 2nd anniversary beer. Great aromas and great flavor. It was a hit with the guests there that day.
