Poured on-tap at the Bold City Brewery, the beer was served up in a pint glass. This beer is even darker than the original, but with a huge, thick, dense, tan colored head of about two inches that settles into a thick film. The aroma is cherry and bourbon, and fairly strong on the bourbon end. This beer has a boozey hint to the flavor, and the caramel is accented by a brown sugar/molasses flavor from the bourbon, with the slightest hint of cherry/dark fruit sweetness and tartness at the end. The body remains light and crisp, with smoothness on the finish. The cherry really comes through on the aftertaste. THere is a crispness that keeps the finish manageable. Very tasty beer...too bad it's a one-timer.
