Velvety full bodied texture. Medium bitterness with caramel, roasted coffee aroma. Hints of sweet chocolate coffee, caramel and nuts.

Tried this beer at the local Greek restaurant. From the bottle, I couldn't tell what style of beer it was. It was a pretty average beer, but tasted like licorice.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very dark ruddy brown, nearly opaque in the glass with a fine one finger light tan head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet toasted caramel malt, toffee and dark dried fruit, very similar to a bock. Flavor is mellow, a subdued version of the aroma with sweet caramel malt with a light toastiness, dark dried fruit, leaning to plum, toffee. Finishes a bit thin, but pleasant memories of the quite nice malt flavors. Medium bodied with some light creaminess, pretty good for a mild dark beer. A surprisingly pleasant experience; although a little disappointed at first by the light flavors, what is present is quite nice and kept my interest. I traveled in Greece many years ago and this would have been a very welcome change from the traditional lighter ales. Too mildly flavored to be very memorable, but a very respectable take on this German style. Glad I tried it.

On the bottle's label this is described as a "Black Wheat Beer" (in Greek) or a "BlackWeissbeer" (in German-English). I had it at home for a couple of months until I finally found the right moment to consume it. I had it on a weissbier glass. Best Before 03/2012.
The 500ml bottle again (like Zeos's other bottles) looks kind of kitschy and... confusing. A Greek flag flying above a black diamond and a "BLACK MAK" ribbon. Other info on the label, translated from Greek: "Ingredients: Water, Barley Malt, Wheat Malt, Hops, Yeast."
Appearance: Very dark brown color; red hues appear at the thinner bottom of the glass, almost black at the wider top part. Light brown head, initially more than an inch thick which gets thinner fairly quick but stays on till the end.
Smell: Light coffee and roasted malt; caramel notes.
Taste: Malt, roasted malt, yeast, a tad sweetish; coffee harder to discern here.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body. Texture is smooth and perhaps slightly mushy; low carbonation.
Drinkability: It’s my kind of “session” beer. Interesting enough to keep you going; light / uncomplicated enough to not make you stop. I could drink many of those. Overall a very pleasant surprise.
