No picture! Why, you ask? Because me and the daughter are going to the Sharks game is why!
Pours a cloudy amber. A nice two fingers of soapy foam. Lightly carbonated, which is a surprise. Aromas are almost non-existent. What there is requires a search, and it's basically two row malt with a splash of caramel. Somewhat sweet, also. Stylistically it's dead on so far, but really not unique. Flavor is very robust and malty, of course. Sweetness in the nose is very evident also in the taste. Beginning to end it's very sweet. Right about halfway through, it starts to get a tad bitter. Some hop bitterness, but very subdued. Other than that, this beer is quite to style, but painfully unexciting.
What I like most: the wonderful pour and overall appearance.
What I like least: the lack of any complexity or uniqueness.
Verdict: astylistically dead on, but produced for non-beer lovers.

The missus and I split the sampler after both being quite happy with our previous pints (mine the casked porter, hers the hefe). We should have stuck with those.
The Oktoberfest was definitely the worst of them all. There was caramel and butter in the nose and taste. The mouthfeel was slick and almost greasy. We had a few sips and realized this wasn't a pleasant experience.
I'm not certain if it was because it was past it's time or just wasn't particularly well-crafted - but I did not like this one at all.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
