I am fairly certain this was actually pulled from a cask, unlike suggested by the previous reviewer - but I could be mistaken.
This was easily my favorite of the Los Gatos beers I sampled and a remarkable difference between this and the draught porter. It poured a dark chocolate color with a slight cappucino head. The aroma was espresso, oak and whiskey. It was the perfect temperature (around 55 degrees) for this. I think it added to the creaminess and depth. Glorious beer.

An almost pitch black appearance with big bubbly tan head and thick lacing. Strong coffee chocolate aroma, very inticing. Charcoal, coffee and molasses come on powerfully in a stoutlike thin bodied brew. The feel is silky yet almost creamy, with bitter chocolate and sourdough highlights. A nice complexity that is fairly drinkable for the style. I would like to try more of this, one of my favorite Los Gatos samples thus far.
