This Helles was served on tap in a pint glass at the brewery. Pours a cloudy straw color. There was a thin 1/4 inch head of white head. Retention was poor as it faded quickly. There was only a small amount of lacing left behind. The aroma was almost non-existent. There was a faint hit of wheat and yeast. The taste of the Helles Bock, was light in body, slightly watery. Mouthfeel was smooth. There was a slight taste of pale malt, yeast and wheat. Not very flavorful, I had many Helles Bocks in Germany and this is very much watered down in comparison. Decent session beer i guess, was a little disappointed.

As other commenters have said, I was impressed by this seemingly innocuous beer. A true helles lager, and not a maibock. Does not have the melanoidin malt sweetness of bock beer, very crisp and drinkable.
Does not, however, have the hopping of a pils. Instead, a very pleasant biscuity character, dry maltiness that is very subtle and pretty impressive, in terms of their engineering. Perfect beer for the warm weather.

This is a great interpretation of German Classic. The aroma is fruity but not over whelming. There is a good sweet grassy smell as well. Light body is refreshing and is smooth going down. This beer is a real easy drinker. The slight spicy flavor is nice I cannot quite put a finger on what spice but it is good to hook. Great esters of grain. I thoroughly enjoyed this beer.

This is one of the more flavorful Helles I have had. There is a nice citrus and spice going on with just a hint of saltiness. I think the thing I like most is how easy this beer goes down. You can quickly find yourself downing several, especially on a hot day in the Lou.

Pours a clear, pale yellow color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Good retention and slight lacing. Smells of yeast, slight wheat, some grain, and pale malt. Fits the style of a Munich Helles Lager, not a Maibock / Helles Bock. Mouth feel is smooth and slightly thick with an average carbonation level. Tastes of yeast, citrus (orange), slight spice, wheat, pale malt, and some hints of rice. Overall, a pretty good helles lager.

Welp, first chance to try a brew from the Stable. Darn nice brew.
Clear golden pour in the shaker pint, white head pops up but dies within a few minutes.
But the brew is classic Helles, clean and crisp aroma of malt - on the subtle side. Taste is priceless - bits of ginger mix well with the lemon peal amongst the malt. All lightly balanced for this true session brew.
Slides like a dream, smooth as a baby's butt - I could go for an all nighter in the STL heat with this one.
