A: pours a murky plum color with half a finger of purple-tinged head that fades into a thin ring with no lacing.
S: sweet and slightly tart black currants up front before notes of burnt sugar, toffee, leather, and bourbon kick in. Interesting and nice aroma.
T: sweet and tart black currants throughout here as well along with Belgian spices, oak, bourbon, and some tobacco and leather flavors. The finish is tart and only slightly boozy.
M: medium-thick body with low carbonation, this beer is varbonated enough to be too sticky sweet.
O: a good beer overall. Lots of complexity that mostly works well together. The currants could be a little less strong, but aren't overpowering.
