On tap at the HOTD tasting room the other day.
The beer pours a darkish brown color with light lacing and not much retention. This beer has the look of one that has seen some serious barrel aging (low carb and viscuous looking as well). The nose is attractive, though I think the barrel aging has obliterated most of the Fred character. In any event, there's plenty of cherry and brandy in the nose, with light vanilla, brown sugar and a hint of chocolate. The flavor profile is just more of the same, and this beer is just absolutely delicious. The low carbonation enhances the mouthfeel, which is full and fairly long. Alcohol is noticeable, but the beer is not hot or heavy on the palate. It's quite rich though, but without being overly sweet.
Hard to imagine drinking more than a glass of this stuff (though I was tempted), as this is definitely a sipper. Excellent stuff.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
