On tap at the brewery. Aged in barrels for 4 years!
Visibly darker than Fred, this is amber with a thin, white head. The nose is a fucking champ. Sherry, brandy, honey, caramel and booze, this is decadent. Prunes and raisins are present. Strangely, it also has a bit of tobacco and earth. But really, this is a blend of tastefully oxidized Fred, brandy and booze i.e. excellent. The palate is driven by the flavors of booze and Brandy and Fred, in that order. Alcohol, vanilla, sherry, honey, mild butterscotch, a little bit of creamy flan, there's a ton going on. The finish is mildly disappointing, this is where the age really shows- a slightly dull malt character, a heavy booze note and pleasant pomace and sherry. Full in body and softly carbonated, this is quite a wonderful beer.
