Collaboration with Toccalmatto.
Jet black with a dark brown head that falls off rapidly, this looks solid. The nose is peaty, smoky, mildly charred, toasty, earthy. Pumpernickel bread, chicory, a like but if fruity cocoa. Unfortunately, the palette doesn't live up to the promise of the nose. While the flavor notes are present, it is a little disjointed. Creamy, bitter, and moderately smoky, the flavor is great. Wonderful peat smoke. The palate is a little thin, and the dry finish makes the smoke take on an acrid note. Year adds a mild fruitiness and a touch of heather is present. All told, this is excellent.
