Pours a dark-red amber colour, decent beige head that doesn't stick around. Looks alright, pretty bocky.

Smells oaky, and smoky. Oak giving off big notes of sweet vanilla as well. Decent aroma, but not really what's advertised.

Taste is the same. Sweet vanilla throughout , that gets a little sickly and mediciney towards the mid-palate. Oaky towards the back and a touch of smoke. Elderberry? Hello?

Decent body, goes down OK. Fair fluidity, pleasant enough.

Meh. Not a lot of elderberry and has the kind of characters I typically don't much care for in a bock. A shame.
