Another rendition of the Zhigulovskoye brand, this one comes in a standard brown half liter bottle a yellow, gold and brown label featuring the brewery's coat of arms and not much else. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 8/27/04, I opened it on 3/24/04.
Pours a standard clear gold under a two finger white head that disappears completely in no time at all. The nose is sweet, with an orange fanta hint to it. The mouth is heavy, slightly sour and well carbonated. The taste kicks off with some just barely sour malt, followed by a fairly healthy metallic bite. The metal lingers through the finish and into the aftertaste, where it contends with more sour for dominance of the tastebuds. Nothing special here.
