Brewery Notes: Named for Stand Rock, one of the Dells most famous rock formations. Our brown lager is full bodied & malty sweet. German Lager Yeast was used to achieve the flavor & true to the style, we slowly lagered this beer cold. Dark Munich Malt gives the beer its smooth character; this brown lager is a truly a mellow meal in a glass!
Purchased a 6 pack of 12oz bottles at the Tap room on June 23, 2018. They were selling bottles at the bar for $2.00 a bottle for take home or drink it there. I figure it's in the 6.0 to 6.5+ ABV range. A little different tasting than most WI bocks. It's a Brown lager: sweet and smooth. Somewhat simple. I like it. I think this may have scored higher if it was fresher

Appearance is a ruby color with no visible cloud or sediment. No head even when poured aggressively into a standard pint (contaminated growler?), nice sticky lacing.
Smell is baked bread and chocolate malt powder mixed with herbal, floral spikes.
Taste is deep, chocolate, floral herbs, spices, malty backbone, blackstrap molasses with honey, ginger snaps and a small hop ht as the beer warms.
Mouthfeel is good. Small oily coating on the tongue, medium carbonation. Not too watery with a good amount of body.
Drinkability is excellent, tasty beer that begs you to come back for another one on a cold winter night.
I liked this beer. A very deep flavored, well textured example of a local Bock beer.

Top notch bock...some real nice bready/doughy qualities that are noticable on the nose and the taste..brown sugary sweetness....pretty full bodied for a bock...reminds me a little of New Glarus Uff Da in the weightiness of it....if you like malty bocks this is for one...outstanding, bready, malty bock
Highly drinkable despite being pretty substantial....one of the better brew pub bocks I've encountered..

Glowing scarlet red appearance. Very slightly hazed. Thin beige head leaves patchy lace. On the nose, I get thick, rich malts and molasses. A little raisin and rum as well. The taste is thick with bready malts. A little caramel sweetness. Some rainsin and rum. A little fig. A little brown sugar. Damn good. Mouthfeel is chewy and the body is damn near full. This stuff is extremely drinkable. Drinkable by the gallons. This comes off to me like a Liberator JR. And that's a high compliment. This is just a bock, not a dopple.
